I LOVE A MYSTERY

CONTENTS:

     One of the best drama / adventure programs of all times.  This series started on 01/16/39 on the West Coast over the NBC radio network for Fleischmann's Yeast until 09/29/39 as a 15 minute, five times a week program.  The series was then picked up by the entire NBC network beginning on 10/02/39 and ran until 03/29/40 again five times a week, 15 minute program with the same sponsorship.  Beginning on 04/04/40 and continuing until 06/27/40 the program was heard as a once a week 30 minute broadcast.  From 09/30/40 to 06/29/42 it was heard over the Blue network.  The series then ended temporarily with the withdrawal of Fleischmann's Yeast (war shortages), but returned this time on CBS for Procter & Gamble, under their Oxydol and Ivory Soap products from 03/22/43 to 12/29/44 again in the 15 minute format.  The last radio run

of this series was heard over the Mutual radio network from 10/03/49 to 12/26/52, five times a week, 15 minutes per broadcasts and was produced and transcribed in New York with a different cast using the original scripts.  The following shows are from that New York run and star Russell Thorson, and later Robert Dryden, as Jack Packard, Jim Boles as Doc Long, Tony Randall as Reggie Yorke.  Mercedes McCambridge also starred in many of the Hollywood productions.  Written and created by Carlton E. Morse, he also produced and directed the series.  Sound effects on these episodes were by George Cooney and Barney Beck.  Many old time radio program collectors consider this to be one of the best series to have in their collections.
